Since finishing my Peace Corps Service in August 2016, I have earned my Master’s of Science degree in Environmental Studies from College of Charleston (December 2016) and moved to the island of Bonaire to work as an Intern Coordinator at the CIEE Research Station in tropical marine ecology.
As the Intern Coordinator I help to teach undergraduate coursework in coral reef ecology and assist students with their independent research projects. This semester we are studying lionfish eDNA, coral dark spot disease, bar jack foraging behavior, fairy basslet time allocation and more. My days are filled with labs, lectures and scuba dives. Follow my blog posts for more information or visit the CIEE website if you are an undergraduate student looking to study abroad in the Caribbean.
